Annie is a stoneware sculpture permanently installed in the main square of the suburban residential area Østerhøj, located at a convenient driving distance from Copenhagen. Most of the people living in the surrounding apartment blocks are families with children. Annie stands at the top of the hill watching the daily life and activities that take place on the square. Her shirt is striped and corresponds with the facades of the neighboring buildings.

Annie is roughly average human height and is placed directly on the ground. Her appearance is cartoonish with the two kids on her arms screaming indefinitely. She is a public monument, but not placed on a high plinth as we know it from depictions of great men and their big achievements from earlier times. Annie is at eye level with her viewers, both concretely and figuratively. She conveys an experience that many people are familiar with, the hopelessness and despair of everyday life. She is handling two hysterical twins, yet she looks directly into the eyes of the beholder with a strong expression on her face. She is a rock, an image of motherhood power.
